1-Year Workmanship Coverage
The first year of homeownership is when most homeowners become familiar with the little details of their new home.
As your home settles and adjusts to seasonal changes, you may notice items such as:
- Minor drywall nail pops
- Small drywall cracks
- Trim separation
- Caulk shrinkage
- Door adjustments
- Other workmanship-related items
These are common occurrences in new construction and are typically covered under your one-year workmanship warranty.
But here’s where our approach is different.
Rather than waiting for homeowners to discover issues and call us, we actively encourage warranty inspections.
Shortly after moving in, you’ll receive a reminder to schedule your 30-day walkthrough. This gives us an opportunity to address any items you’ve noticed during your first month in your new home.
Then, as you approach your one-year anniversary, we’ll send another reminder inviting you to schedule your 11-month walkthrough.
In fact, we practically invite ourselves into your home.
Why?
Because many homeowners either forget about warranty coverage or simply become accustomed to minor issues over time. We want to make sure any warrantable workmanship items are identified and addressed before your one-year coverage period expires.
Our In-House Warranty Program
Many builders outsource warranty service to third parties or rely on subcontractors to coordinate repairs.
At Conaway Homes, we’ve taken a different approach.
We employ our own dedicated in-house warranty technician, Len, whose primary responsibility is helping homeowners long after closing day.
Having a dedicated warranty specialist means homeowners know exactly who to call when questions arise. It also allows us to respond more quickly and provide a more personal level of service.
Over the years, Len has earned a reputation for professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Here are just a few examples of what homeowners have said:
"Len is great, I can email him any concerns and he is on top of it. Very professional and courteous." -Tim
"Len came to my home when I needed him and he fixed every issue and cleaned the area and gave me advice." -Martesha
"Len came out and did the one-year inspection. He fixed a couple of minor items for me and a couple that I had not known about." -Kay
For us, closing day isn’t the end of the relationship. It’s just the beginning.
2-Year Systems Coverage
Your home’s systems are what make it comfortable and functional every day.
This coverage typically includes major systems such as:
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing systems
- HVAC components
While many builders offer systems coverage, the quality of that coverage often depends on the contractors performing the work.
That’s why we carefully select the subcontractors who work on our homes.
Every trade partner we hire must meet our standards for craftsmanship, professionalism, and customer service. Just as importantly, they must stand behind their work.
We require our subcontractors to honor their warranties and prioritize service requests for Conaway homeowners.
That means if an issue arises within the coverage period, you’re not left trying to track down contractors on your own. We work directly with our trade partners to help ensure warranty concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
When you choose a Conaway home, you’re benefiting not only from our warranty commitment but also from a network of trusted professionals who stand behind their workmanship.
6-Year Structural Coverage
Perhaps the most important component of any home is one you rarely see once construction is complete: the foundation.
A beautiful kitchen, upgraded finishes, and stylish fixtures don’t matter much if the structure beneath them isn’t built properly.
That’s why structural coverage is such an important part of your home warranty.
At Conaway Homes, our foundations are engineered with long-term performance in mind.
Every home is built on an engineer-designed post-tension slab foundation. These systems are specifically designed to perform in East Texas soil conditions and provide exceptional structural stability.
Even more importantly, they’re backed by both the structural engineer who designed the foundation and the post-tension cable manufacturer involved in the system.
This means the most important component of your home has multiple layers of professional oversight and accountability behind it.
When homeowners ask us what gives us confidence in our homes, our foundation system is one of the first things we mention.
Because when the foundation is built correctly, everything else starts from a position of strength.
Why a Good Warranty Matters
A home warranty shouldn’t simply exist to satisfy a requirement on paper.
It should reflect a builder’s confidence in the homes they build and their commitment to the families who live in them.
At Conaway Homes, we believe warranty service is an extension of customer service.
That’s why we provide:
- 1-year workmanship coverage
- 2-year systems coverage
- 6-year structural coverage
- An in-house warranty technician
- Proactive 30-day and 11-month walkthrough reminders
- Trusted trade partners who stand behind their work
- Engineer-designed post-tension foundations
The Bottom Line
When evaluating a builder, don’t just ask about floor plans, finishes, and pricing.
Ask about the warranty.
Ask what happens after closing.
Ask who you’ll call if you have a question six months from now.
A builder’s warranty program often tells you just as much about the company as the home itself.
At Conaway Homes, we’re proud to stand behind every home we build—and we’re committed to being there long after move-in day.
